Touching Lives In the Covid-Crisis
We would like to share with you some of the various ways that donations to GCPN have touched people’s lives during the pandemic crisis in one area of the world.
One man whose family faces multiple health challenges reported the following:
“I live with my wife, daughter and two grandchildren. We all live on my pension as there are no jobs to get during lock-down. We are in great need as we do not have enough money for food or to buy medicine and diapers. I would like to thank the Church from the bottom of my heart for helping us with food packages! This is very valuable and important for us. One such package for our family lasted for three weeks. Thanks to everyone who participated in this good deed.”
A woman relates:
“Recently, I began to attend the Church. I live in a small annex with my two daughters. Some time ago my husband kicked me out as he had found a young wife. I stayed on the street with the children. I got acquainted with some Christian believers, they began to help me in any way they could. They helped me make minor repairs in my little annex. They insulated it and gave it a heating stove and gave me some mattresses and helped me with grocery bags whenever possible because I had nothing to live on and I was not able to feed my little children. My husband does not need me anymore and my parents do not help me and do not welcome me with my children. They say I have failed my husband and am a shame to the family. I thank the believers for their care and concern for us. Now they also try to help me to get a job. Thanks to God for everyone who is involved in helping us.”
Another woman, who lives in one room with her sick husband, two children, and multiple grandchildren, sharing a bathroom and kitchen with their neighbors, said:
“I have visited the Church and learned a lot about God who loves us. My two adult children left to work and left their grandchildren to me, but they do not send money to help me feed their children, my grandkids. I thank the church for their care and helping us with things and packages with food. This is particularly important to us during the pandemic. Thanks to God and the people through whom He helps us.”
Please take a moment to pray for those who have been helped with provision during the COVID-19 pandemic, that they would praise God and see his love for them. Pray for those who are ministering to these needs, that they would be strengthened and not grow weary in doing good. Pray that their efforts will be blessed for the glory of God. And thanks to all who have given donations to GCPN to help with these efforts during this pandemic crisis.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16, NIV
